Daniel Schubert is “carioca”, medical student from Rio de Janeiro State University (UERJ). When young, Medicine was never in his mind. He always wanted to be a fighter pilot, but myopia fogged his dream. With this crazy, adrenaline-seeking profile, it was kinda obvious that Schubert would fall in love with Trauma. Today, he doesn’t see himself doing anything else in life, but Medicine. Schubert aims to materialize that sick passion working to improve Emergency Medical care and Trauma care in Rio de Janeiro, his hometown.
Schubert has the American College of Surgeons’s TEAM – Trauma Evaluation and Management – certification. He does research in Pediatric Urology at the Urology Service of Pedro Ernesto Memorial Teaching Hospital. He rides along in shifts of emergency general surgery and trauma surgery as a volunteer student at Hospital Federal do Andaraí and Hospital Estadual Getúlio Vargas.
Trauma 1 is a personal iniciative to demystify the Trauma and show the science behind the care to the politrauma patient to the brazilian community. Always seeks the best evidence on the treatment of traumatic injuries and has the final objective to stimulate trauma research in Brazil. Aims to foward the knowledge whenever possible, following the FOAM – Free Open Source Meducation – principles and quests to expand this movement to the Brazilian Medical Community – #FOAMedBRA or #FOAMBRA.
